Department of Civil Engineering (NBA Accredited)
The strength of the Department is that it has established strong Industry-Institute Interaction. The Department has various active MoUs and has established various Industry Sponsored Laboratory (Plumbing Laboratory and Advanced Material Laboratory).
To achieve the vision and mission of the Department we disseminate the technical knowledge, develop professional skills and impart morals as well as values to develop not only competent engineers but also good citizens to serve the society and nation. For overall development of our students we established several student clubs like Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) Student Chapter, ISRO-IIRS Outreach Center and Civil Engineering Student Association (CESA). Through these students’ chapters various events such as Workshops, Technical Events etc. are organized annually. Our students make us proud by winning prizes at International, National and state levels. Recently one-day workshop on ‘Advances in Civil Engineering’ through IGS student chapter was conducted successfully. The Department has received National and State Level Grants.
The main objective of the Department is to provide students the necessary skills and practical experience to fulfil their professional duties and responsibilities in teamwork, along with ethics, technical leadership, business acumen and lifelong learning. This will provide the path for the students to become future engineers, innovators and make substantial contribution to the society of Civil Engineers.

Giridhar N. Narule acquired his B.E. in Civil Engineering from Nagpur University (1993)and M.E. (Structural Engineering) from Sardar Patel College of Engineering,Andheri, Mumbai University (2001). He has been awarded a Ph.D. on "Lengtheffects on the efficiency of CFRP composite strengthening on the behavior ofcircular and non-circular columns under axial compression" by MumbaiUniversity in 2019, which was completed under the guidance of Dr. A. N. Bambole(Department of Structural Engineering VJTI, Mumbai) and his work was mentoredby Dr. Tarun Kant (Professor Emeritus, Department of Civil Engineering, IndianInstitute of Technology Bombay). College of Engineering Amravati and Ph. D Civil- Structural Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune in 2018. He has secured Fourth position in University (with distinction) in Civil Engineering from Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University in 2007 and First position in University (with distinction) in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering) from Amravati University. He qualified GATE in 2007. Dr Chittaranjan has guided 50 students for project work in structural engineering, earthquake engineering, structural dynamic, rehabilitation of structures and dynamic analysis of plate and shell by FEM, during their masters. He has 14 years of experience in teaching and research. About the Magazine:
Nirmaan is a technical magazine of Civil Engineering Department, VPKBIET, Baramati. It aims to provide a technical platform to all our stakeholders such as students, alumni, Industry experts and faculty members for expressing their views regarding various aspects of engineering and society. It focuses mainly on upgrading the knowledge of the readers and adopting newer trends in practice apart from the university syllabus. Om Savale Patil
Ironman Triathlon Competition was conducted at Kazakhstan (Russia) on 14 Aug 2022. About 2,500 competitors belonging to 16 countries partipated in the same. 1,000 competitors were in the age group 18-24. 3.8 km swimming in cold water, 180 km cycling and 42 km running have to be completed within 16 hours. The TE (Civil) student of VPKBIET, Baramati Mr. Om Savale Patil participated and grabbed the fourth position as an Ironman in the age group 18-24. Om needed 13 hours and 50 minutes to completethe Triathlon. He is the first student of Vidya Pratishthan to achieve this milestone.

different concepts related to hydrology, planning of reservoirs, construction of dam, reservoir operations, discharge

Department of Civil Engineering organized a Two-Day technical event “STHAPATYA-2K19” during 25 and 26 January 2019. Interdisciplinary events were organized and about 900-1000 students from VPKBIET as well as outside institutes participated in various events. The event was inaugurated in the presence of Vice-Principal, Dr. S B Lande and Heads of all Departments and other dignitaries. The chief guest for the valedictory function was Mr. Ti-pusultan Pathan. Various events like Debate, Extempore, Photography, Poster Presentation, Bridge making, Software storm and Technical Treasure Hunt were organised. BE student, Mr. Parshuram Dhalape was the president of the event. Dr. Samadhan Morkhade coordinat-ed the event. The event was guided by Dr. R J Patil, Head of Department and all faculty members and non-teaching staff graced the event with active participation.
