Department of Civil Engineering (NBA Accredited)

There is always incessant need of strong infrastructure for the development and economic growth of the nation. We contribute in the national growth since 2006 by providing competent Civil Engineers, the real builders of the nation who concrete and strengthen the backbone of country. Department of Civil Engineering was established in July 2006. The Department offers UG (BE Civil Engineering intake 60), PG (Structural Engineering intake 18) course and PhD Research Centre affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. This Department is endowed with a high caliber, dedicated, well-qualified and experienced team of professionally inclined faculty. All the laboratories are developed with the state-of-the-art technology to impart advanced knowledge to our students. To sustain global competition, innovative techniques are utilized to provide exposure to the students to the latest trends and practices in the construction industry through various activities like site visits, seminars by experts from fields, technical projects, Internship Programs and Value addition Programs.

The strength of the Department is that it has established strong Industry-Institute Interaction. The Department has various active MoUs and has established various Industry Sponsored Laboratory (Plumbing Laboratory and Advanced Material Laboratory).

To achieve the vision and mission of the Department we disseminate the technical knowledge, develop professional skills and impart morals as well as values to develop not only competent engineers but also good citizens to serve the society and nation. For overall development of our students we established several student clubs like Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) Student Chapter, ISRO-IIRS Outreach Center and Civil Engineering Student Association (CESA). Through these students’ chapters various events such as Workshops, Technical Events etc. are organized annually. Our students make us proud by winning prizes at International, National and state levels. Recently one-day workshop on ‘Advances in Civil Engineering’ through IGS student chapter was conducted successfully. The Department has received National and State Level Grants.

The main objective of the Department is to provide students the necessary skills and practical experience to fulfil their professional duties and responsibilities in teamwork, along with ethics, technical leadership, business acumen and lifelong learning. This will provide the path for the students to become future engineers, innovators and make substantial contribution to the society of Civil Engineers.

Our esteemed Alumni who are nationally and internationally recognized and occupied good positions in government, semi-government, private sectors, industry and academics, have witnessed our student-centric quality teaching-learning practices, student development activities, positive attitude, honest and constant efforts to develop competent Civil Engineers.
