VPKBIET, Baramati received an opportunity to
host second edition
of IEEE Bombay Section Symposium 2016 during
20-22 Dec'16. IBSS
is one of the main Signature event of Bombay
Section. Aim of this
annual event is to provide its members with
a platform to share
their expertise in a wide range of science,
engineering and
industrial research areas that the IEEE ably
represents and
nurtures. At the same time, the Symposia offers
excellent
opportunities for the students, researchers and
industries to
foster collaborations or simply to further
their knowledge in
the cutting-edge science, engineering and
technology.
This symposium was a mix of
invited review talks, invited
technical presentations and contributory posters.
Experts from various IITs, higher-learning
institutions
and recognized industries have delivered their
technical
expertise during this symposium. The main theme
of this
symposium was "Frontiers of Technologies:
Fuelling Prosperity
of the Planet & People". Papers presented
during the symposium
were adhering with the theme.
Around 100 participants from all over India
have
actively participated during this symposium.
As a part of pre-symposium sessions, hands-on
tutorials on Internet of Things (IoT) and Embedded
Systems
were also organized during this symposium.

To make the students aware of these technical updates in various sectors of Engineering, IEEE Student Branch at VPCOE organized a technical event "Tech-Magic: An Innovative Idea Presentation" on 2nd March'16 on the occasion of science day (28 Feb'16). The main intention behind organization of this technical event was to nurture and explore various ideas/innovations in student community.

The conference will be focused on Inspiration, Leadership, Empowerment and Entrepreneurship for men and women young professionals and students to pursue and build a career in Engineering. Our three faculty members attended the symposium.

IEEE Bombay Section hosted the sixth Student Internship Preparation Program as a part of the IEEE India Strategic Initiative. This is an initiative from MGA to encourage students to engage in internships and obtain industry exposure. The IEEE Strategic plan is a vital part of the ongoing evolution of IEEE. The Plan provides a clear picture of IEEE as an organization, the goals our community is pursuing, and the initiatives that will move IEEE forward in the coming years. Our 40 students along with three faculty members participated in the event.

Dr. Ajit Kumar highlighted the opportunities available to pursue higher education and career in Healthcare Management. He discussed the program offered by Goa Institute of Management, Goa on MBA in Healthcare Management. He shared the situation of healthcare in India and abroad. He discussed with the students about the opportunities available in India and abroad.

The IEEE Student Branch at Vidya Pratishthan's Institute of Engineering & Technology, Baramati received the approval to form VPCOE IEEE SIGHT Group from SIGHT Steering Committee on 2nd September 2015. To start the activities, we formally invited Prof. Chanakya Kumar Jha, Chair, IEEE SIGHT, IEEE Bombay Section to inaugurate our SIGHT Group and to guide us on the ongoing activities at Bombay section.

from Childhood to Graduation and
regarding her career transition from Academics
to Industry. She was former Head of Energy
Science Department at IIT Bombay.
Dr. Veenaranjini Manjunath spoke about various
research projects she worked at Cummins
and Life at Cummins for Women Engineers.
She shared regarding her experience working
with ISRO and Cummins India Pvt. Ltd.

A brainstorming session was arranged for Young
Professionals Track.

VPKBIET CSI Student Branch organized a one day Workshop on "Business Analytics and Intelligence" on 23-03-2016 at VPKBIET Baramati. Dr. Mansi S. Patwardhan, Dean, Research, VIT, Pune covered basic concepts and need of Data Warehousing, ETL Process, different aspects of Business Intelligence and Data Warehouses etc. and demonstrated various data warehouses. Student from BE Comp Engg, BE IT, ME Comp Engg and Faculties from Computer and IT Department and SBC attended the Workshop organized by Prof. G.J. Chhajed, Assistant Professor, Comp Engg, VPKBIET, Baramati.

In Technova'15 some formal events likeposter presentation, codewar, blind coding, web designing, Interview, Quiz Competition, CSGaming were planned and executed and have managed to gather maximum response. These events are organized every year with the objective to provide platform for thestudents to showcase their talent with a competitive spirit. The event was successful enough to attract as many as 374 registrations for three day Technova'15 which includes all the events.

Indian Society of Structural
Engineers (ISSE) was founded on 29th Jan. 1997 by ten advisory
trustees under the leadership of great visionary & eminent
engineer Late R. L. Nene its membership all over
India in now more 1000. ISSE has been founded to resolve
issues for the welfare of structural engineers since
there was no professional institution solely dedicated
and development to the cause of structural engineering
profession in India, it fulfills the great need felt
over many years.
The goal of ISSE is to enhance the
dignity of structural engineers and evolve
suitable norms for their responsibilities
and remunerations,
bringing a brotherhood and dignified role in the society.
In order to achieve the above goal, it is the
need of the hour that all professional Engineers
